Missing: Manatees!

How the Manatee is endangered!

The Manatee is endangered because motor boat propellers are giving them cuts. There is a little break in the food chain because pollution like pop cans is blocking the sun from making plants. And the Manatees eat plants. Another way they're endangered because of pollution. Another reason is because there was an outbreak of red-tide in 1982 and 37 Manatees died. Red-tide is poisonous microscopic organisms.

Wanted: people to help!

One way to help save the Manatee is by putting out signs that say "Caution: Manatee area! No motor boats allowed!" Another way to help the Manatees is that people should be taught about the problems faced by Manatees so that they would stop hunting them and harming them with their fishing nets and boats. Another way is by going scuba diving to clean up pollution, so it doesn't block the sun.

What could happen?

People would miss the Manatees because they are nice and they let people swim with them. Even though people kill and hurt them, they still like humans. If the Manatees were extinct then, the sea grass would over grow. Then, the sea grass could clog up the water. Then, there won't be a lot of water like it would be with the Manatees.
